Huge, inky and dense — concentrated ripe black plum with a hint of sweet jelly, blood and iron notes wrapped in a richly tannic cloak. Chewy but ripe, with the foursquare structure of traditional Cornas married to modern sophistication. Now on its peak plateau with great harmony — truffle, mushroom and café notes have emerged with age while the acidity keeps everything fresh. The 1998 was Jaboulet's first full vintage from this 7.3-acre estate in Cornas.
