Deep purple with sweet, smoky blackcurrant, camphor and graphite aromas. Dense and concentrated on the palate — liquorice, black cherry, chocolate, espresso and a sprig of mint. Round and medium-bodied with loads of chocolate-covered fruit in the finish. A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, the 2006 combines ripe dark fruit with old-world rusticity and earthiness. Saint-Émilion Grand Cru at its most seductive.
