Founded in 1892 by Andrea Da Ponte, descendant of a brother of the famous Lorenzo Da Ponte, the librettist of Mozart, author of “Le nozze di Figaro” (1786), of “Don Giovanni” (1787) and of “Così fan tutte” “(1790). Andrea Da Ponte, in love with nature and its territory, expert on the same level as his brother Matteo, who perfected the techniques of distillation in 1896, giving the prints the first serious “Manual of Distillation”, reproposed then, in four successive editions, until 1935 by the Hoepli of Milan. The “Da Ponte Method”, described in the “Handbook” also with extraordinary drawings by the author, was immediately innovative and very modern and made school, becoming known and appreciated for perfumes, aromas and softness, with products of great balance and elegance.
