Pfaffl Weinviertel DAC, Haidviertel

18.95

This is a typical Grüner Veltliner that is a little creamier, fruitier, and rounder. But it still possesses the classic peppery aroma and has a touch of orange flavour.
“A gorgeous, crisp, clean Austrian white wine made form the country’s classic Gruner Veltliner grape. Pure refreshment and icy chill in the glass: perfect as an aperitif as the weather warms up. Aromas of fresh asperagus with green melon and white pepper. Pair with seafood, shellfish and summer.” – Nathalie Maclean
Bright yellow, a full pinch of black pepper guarded by some mandarine, a crisp and juicy body with enough spice makes you fancy more, animating finish. A wonderful companion to food, perfect to roast pork, but also to fine fish and salads!
The nose is typically Grüner Veltliner, with fresh minerals, melon and black pepper. The body is overall very light, starting with a green apple acidic kick, but with the mango sweetness that balances out the acidity slowly, until transitioning into an aftertaste that is more reminiscent of ripe Honeydew green melons.
