Louis Jadot, Santenay Clos De Malte
Out of stock
The “Clos de Malte” is a 7 ha terroir (Louis Jadot is sole owner) situated on the climate of “Sous la Fée” (Under the fairy) at the foot of the Troix Croix Mountain. The Santenay Clos de Malte is mainly planted with Pinot Noir with a small hectare of Chardonnay situated on very damp soil of limestone and clay.
Harvested manually in small crates to preserve the integrity of the fruit. The grapes are pressed gently and then fermented in the barrels of our cooperage, a third of which are new. The aging lasts about 15 months on lees before preparation for bottling.
On the nose ripe pineapple, citrus peel, marmalade, toffee, toasted wood and corn. The palate has sharp acidity, good concentration, a little extra oaked, but still well balanced, good length. Overall this Santenay is well made, pure, ripe and generous. It presents good value for money and good quality. It won’t disappoint specially at this price range.
