Located in the Butteaux sector, the Premier Cru Montmains is at the top of the hill, on a very shallow ground. A unique land made of marl, limestone and fossil oysters over 150 million years old. Long in the mouth, very dry, rough and mineral, they develop after a few years of very pleasant aromas of flowers (hawthorns, acacias …) which succeed the notes of flint and chalk. Very pure, this wine can sometimes seem austere in its youth. A way to reveal the identity of its terroir beaten by the winds, in poor soil, from a vine of 40 years, this wine is the example of Chablis.
