Moulin de la Gardette is a small 10ha family owned property in Gigondas with vineyards stretching from the plateau close to the village to the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail mountains. The vines of la Gardette made fine Gigondas wine and, as the enterprise prospered, the Meunier family added other plots of land close around la Gardette. Nowadays, Jean Baptiste Meunier who took over the family business in 1990 tends mature vines with an average age of around 65 years in twenty-five different parcels of Gigondas garrigue.All grapes are hand harvested and hand sorted again at the winery to select only the highest quality.

A discreet but intriguing nose of flowers, fruits and herbs. It’s fresh and almost cleansing on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is concentrated but not overly so, with incredible brightness and vivacity leading into a mineral, saline finish that refreshes and lifts the spirits. Perfectly balanced, poised and seriously elegant, this is an absolute joy. It has an unforced and natural demeanour that is the sign of great terroir and a natural, sensitive touch in the cellar. Fantastic, and totally true to Gigondas.

Med ruby. Rich baked red fruit (cooked strawberry, raspberry, cherry), liquorice, toasty oxy old wood, clove & sweet spice. Earthy, rich, ripe, leathery. Blackberry, black plum. Med+ aroma intensity. Developing. Dry. Rich ripe red & black fruit (raspberry, black cherry, blackberry, black plum).
