The Girard estate, located in the municipality of Alaigne in the heart of the Malepère appellation, benefits from the altitude, a Mediterranean micro-climate with oceanic influence and splendid exhibitions that allow it to produce very characteristic wines. Winemakers for 4 generations, the Domaine Girard, which today comprises nearly 30 hectares, has always favored the spirit of terroir and quality. The vines are grown in sustainable viticulture.

This wine is grown at the peak of the mature harvest. The grapes are collected in flat boxes to avoid crushing. They’re not damaged before bottling, though could show light sediment after a few years in cellar. This winemaking process will give us a complex and powerful wine what is warm to the nose marries notes of fruit with alcohol and spices. In the mouth it is full and round, with a fine grain of tannin found in final spicy accents. Suitable for dishes such as hare or wild boar stews.
