Clos De Gamot MAGNUM, Cahors

47.95

Clos de Gamot is an old vineyard of 18 ha, with only one grape variety: the Malbec. It has a superb “terroir” clay-siliceous, with pebbles and silex. One part of its vines are 120 years old and still producing some grapes. They were planted immediately after the phylloxera epidemic, in 1885. The soil is worked by ploughing, without weed killer, there are more than 10 to 12 farming ways by season. Manual harvest is necessary to pick grapes of the old vines. The maceration period is about 21 days. It is closely monitored by various tastings and the knowledge of the Jouffreau family, to find the right time to stop the maceration. Our extractions methods remain traditional and very respectful of the vintage’s character. We prefer using pumping over, to work on the wine harmony of our “Cuvée”. The Cuvée Blending brings the exceptional quality of the Clos de Gamot wine and his fabulous keeping potential.
