Cinco Leguas el Secreto de La Garnacha

Marc Isart who was one of the founding members of the ‘Comando G’ group stepped out and back to his home town of Chinchon outside Madrid. Marc has worked with biodynamics and was keen to work in the truly traditional  way with old vine Garnacha from Gredos and vinifies the wine in Chinchon. This is his first full vintage of ageing his wines in Tinajas (amphora). The wine is fully of energy, have great structural acidity and purity of fruit. He has managed to keep the alcohol down to 13% which is an achievement in this extremely hot part of Spain. El Secreto de la Garnacha is a humble, thirst quenching wine. Unpretentious and easy to connect with. It speaks of the place it comes from in a subtle, yet characterful way. It is lightly coloured, with an herbal aromatic twist. In the mouth, initial sweetness of the wild strawberries and raspberries leads you on to a slatey, mineral finish with a pleasant tannic grip.
