The Mexican Berilo Co-Op has the intention to be a source of social and environmental improvement by providing their farmers better coffee prices, new opportunities for particularly smallholder producers and to reduce pollution levels and so improve the health of coffee farmers and their families.
The Colombian Santa María farm is operated by a group of 22 women, who perform work from planting through the hand harvest of each red fruit working as a team with great respect for the ecosystem under the landscape of a unique natural forest that offers a special microclimate that shines through in each coffee bean.
