Luigi Righetti Amarone della Valpolicella Classico

29.95

Located in Valgatara, is located in the centre of the  ‘Valpolicella Classico’ area. The Luigi Righetti estate is a small ,family run winery. Created by Angelo Righetti in 1909. Angelo soon gained a reputation as an outstanding winemaker. The family has focussed on producing quality wines offering extremely good value. The family has followed these principles and Gian Maria Righetti is now a fifth generation wine maker carrying on the family tradition. The brand name was established by Gian Maria’s father, Luigi. Luigi took over winemaking in the 40’s and was the first in the family to consider production beyond supply of local demand. Today, Luigi is still active in the estate’s day to day operations and Gian Maria, took over winemaking responsibilities in 1985 and this remains a classic family run vineyard.

Luigi Righetti Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico is deep ruby-red, with a complex nose dominated by dried fruits. Full bodied on the palate, the big, cherry and prune flavours in the mouth give way to a rich, smooth finish. Although this will continue to evolve in the bottle for several years yet, we really enjoy drinking it now and enjoying all of its delicious dried fruit flavours.
