L'Ancienne Mercerie, Les Petites Mains
€19.75
This vintage pays homage to the grandmother of the owner, haberdasher and lodger, who mastered the art of assembling materials, colors and lace. The name of the cuvée Les Petites Mains – “The Little Hands” refers to the young apprentices of the old fashion house who had to work with care and meticulousness. This allows to draw a parallel with the elaboration of this wine, whose rigorous follow-up of the vines into the cellar.
Souvenir of a haberdashery grandmother and seamstress who worked wonders in assembling materials, colors, lace, this wine from the blend of grapes harvested on all our parcels of Faugères combines the rectitude of Carignan, the seduction of the Syrah, the curves of Grenache, the elegance of Mourvèdre. It has the character that is expected of a Faugères, who lets himself drink young as a delicacy, and does not disappoint when time has passed. Accessible to all new consumers, it is also suitable for amateurs, who are also looking for complexity.
The vinification takes place in a traditional way, with the use of indigenous yeasts , then the wine benefits from a 9-month aging in vats . Even if this vintage has a vocation of long guard, it is eaten young as a delicacy. Over time, it develops an equally interesting complexity. It is advisable to decant it several hours before serving it at 17 ° C.
