Domaine Martin, Cuvee M de M

The brothers David and Eric Martin are installed since 2005 on the family estate, created in 1905 from 5 ha on the Plan de Dieu. They currently exploit 70 ha of vines, mainly in Gigondas and Châteauneuf-du-pape.

Enter Cuvee M de M, “Mourvèdre de Michael” made from 100% Mourvèdre, aged for 10 months in second year french oak barrels.  Again only 300 bottles exist.  This wine undergoes 3 and 1/2 weeks maceration , pigéage (punching down of the grapes) 2 times a day.

On the nose a beautiful red fruit raspberry / Strawberry and red fruit bouquet along with a hint of vibrant cloves and cinnamon.  On the palate a vibrant splash of red fruits and black pepper clash in a really refreshing wine.  The acidity here is very well balanced.
