Chateau de Chantegrive, Cuvee Caroline

Produced in the Graves appellation was vineyard with a total area of 15 hectares, the “Caroline” wine of Château Chantegrive benefits from vines aged 30 years on average, with southern exposure, and planted in a sandy soil mixed with gravel and pebbles. The wine is aged in oak barrels (of which 50% are new wood) on fine lees, for an average of 9 months and with regular stirring. The 2016 vintage contains a blend of 50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Semillon. At tasting, Chantegrive Castle “Caroline” 2016  offers a great complexity in its aromas. The wine is crisp, intensely fresh and incredibly fruity .

Cold maceration with skin and pre fermentary cold stabulation during 3 weeks. Barrel Fermentation in French oak barrels (50% of new oak) for 9 months, with “bâtonnages” on lees.

An intense nose of citrus, white flowers. The palate has a nice fruity start with a balanced oak and a long finish on exotic fruits.

Perfect with seafood, scallops, prawns, white meat, oven-baked fish, or with cream sauce, sweetbreads, light cheese and foie gras.

Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon
