Michael Anderson

Michael spent almost all his twenties in France, and consequently has a great knowledge, not only of Bordeaux, but also of the wines of the lesser known regions, now coming to the fore. Once apprenticed to a stonemason with a great love of wine, he believes good wine is not simply the preserve of the well to do, but is an experience for all.

In 1999, while working with Searson’s Michael passed The Wine and Spirit Education Trust’s Diploma and, a year later he opened the Wicklow Wine Company with fellow WSET graduate Ben Mason.

Dermot Nolan MW

Dermot is a Master of Wine (MW), living and working in Ireland. He started out in the wine trade by running a small off-licence in south County Dublin, before setting up his own consultancy business.

Since becoming an MW in 1997, Dermot worked mainly in wine education, primarily with the Wine Board of Ireland, although he has taught in the UK and Austria, as well as being heavily involved with the Master of Wine Study programme. He was a Council Member of the Institute of Masters of Wine from 2008 to 2014.

Dermot was a Wine Australia Landmark Scholar in 2009 and has judged at a wide range of competitions such as the International Wine & Spirit Competition, Michelangelo, Mundus Vini, Food Hotel Asia and Les Citadelles du Vin.

Dermot started working with the Wicklow Wine Company in June 2013.
